Q:  If the “wicked men” are “destroy[ed],” isn’t this their annihilation?

A: It is important to know that the word in the Greek (apollumi), translated here as “destroy,” means “lose, destroy , perish” and does not mean that when someone is destroyed, he is gone forever.  And, the Scriptures bear this out, for we read in Revelation 20:11-14, that the dead stand before the Great White Throne, to be judged according to their deeds. If they are standing there, they obviously have been resurrected. So all who are here have died one way or another, including being “destroyed” by someone.
